1. POST: Life Orientation and ICT LECTURER (PL1)

SITE: UMGUNGUNDLOVU TVET COLLEGE – Plessislaer CAMPUS

 REQUIREMENTS:  An appropriate National Diploma with computer literacy as a major subject.  Two years teaching experience. A Teaching qualification. Knowledge of theory and practice in the relevant field. Registered with SACE. Computer literacy is highly recommended. Sound communication skills. Assessor/Moderator Certificates will be an added advantage.

 RESPONSIBILITIES: Undertake all teaching and assessment functions within the NCV Process Plant Operations programme for the above mentioned subject per post above. Facilitation/Teaching of an integrated theory and practical curriculum. Prepare and present lessons incompliance with the College annual academic plan. Assessments of learners as required by College & DHET policies. Record keeping – Registers, Mark sheets, Learner progress. Develop PoAs & PoEs as per ICASS instructions. Development of assessment tools as per ICASS instructions. Classroom management and data capturing. Conduct Assessor and Moderation duties as required by the College. Stock control (consumables and non-consumables). Co-ordinate the procurement of the programmes’ training needs (consumables and equipment). Assist in setting up of workshops and or sim rooms. Assist the Senior Lecturer with day-to-day management duties, invigilation, relief and extra-curricular duties. Administer student on-line registration and career guidance. Assist students with WBE.

 2.POST: MECHANICAL ENGINEERING LECTURER(PL1)

Requirements: An appropriate National Diploma in Education majoring in Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent Teaching qualification, or National Diploma in Mechanical Engineering. 02 Experience in teaching Mechanical Engineering related subjects. Experience in teaching in a TVET sector NCV/R191. Knowledge of theory and practice in the relevant field. Registered with SACE. Computer literacy is highly recommended. Sound communication skills. Assessor/Moderator qualification and accreditation will be an added advantage. Trade Test will be an added advantage.

Duties: Undertake all teaching and learning functions relating to Report 191 (Nated Programmes) in Mathematics N1-N6, Engineering Science N1-N3, Engineering Drawing N1-N3, Motor Trade Theory N1-N2, Mechano Technology N3, Mechano Technics N4-N6, Strengths of Materials and Structures N5-N6, Power Machines N5-N6, Fitting and Machining N1 and N2.  3.POST: EDUCATION SPECIALIST/SENIOR LECTURERS PL2

NATURE OF APPOINTMENT: Permanent

CENTRE: UMgungundlovu TVET College

REQUIREMENTS:An appropriate Diploma in the relevant field which must include a teaching qualification.  A 3 – 5 years lecturing experience, preferably in a TVET Sector. Accreditation as an Assessor and Moderator would be a strong recommendation. Sound communication skills. Ability to monitor and facilitate Students and Lecturers’ performance and provide critical feedback in an objective manner. Good planning, organising, administration, monitoring and evaluation skills. SACE registration. Advanced computer skills (MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint). A valid driver’s licence.

RESPONSIBILITIES: Facilitate general academic and career development of students. Prepare and present lessons in compliance with the College Annual Academic Plan. Prepare the Campus time-table and the College’s Quality Management system. Co-ordinate the procurement of the programme’s training needs. Provide guidance on syllabi, curriculum and learning outcomes. Create a conducive classroom environment and ensure efficient classroom management and discipline of students. Assess students, capture marks, analyse, interpret, effect appropriate remedial action and maintain the necessary ICASS and ISAT records. Facilitate the distribution of textbooks and student packs. Conduct Assessor and Moderation duties as required by the College. Manage and monitor staff and student attendance. Assist the Head of Division with day-to-day management duties. Oversee assessment and moderation. Lecturing/invigilation (relief and extra-curricular duties). Supervise lecturers and manage their performance in terms of IQMS. Professional participation in meetings; workshops; official college functions; seminars; conferences; etc.

4.POST: civil engineering lecturer PL1

SITE: UMGUNGUNDLOVU TVET COLLEGE – Edendale CAMPUS

REQUIREMENTS: An appropriate National Diploma/ Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering majored in Masonry/Building Construction or relevant qualification. A Teaching qualification. Two years teaching experience. Must be registered with SACE. Must have a Trade Certificate in Bricklaying. Computer literacy and sound communication skills are the prerequisites. Assessor/Moderator certificates will be an added advantage.

RESPONSIBILITIES: Undertake all teaching and learning functions related to the NCV Building and Civil Construction programme (Construction Supervision, Construction Planning, Materials, Plant & Equipment and Masonry Trade are some of the compulsory subjects to be taught) Facilitation/Teaching of the integrated theory and practical curriculum. Assessments of learners as required by College policies. Conduct Assessor and Moderation duties as required by the College. POST: HEAD OF DIVISION BUSINESS STUDIES: PL3

SALARY: R421 473PER annum plus applicable service benefits

NATURE OF APPOINTMENT: Permanent

CENTRE: UMgungundlovu TVET College

 REQUIREMENTS: A minimum of Diploma in a Business Studies related field. A professional teaching qualification. Valid registration with SACE. 05 years teaching/lecturing experience with at least 3 years academic supervisory experience.  Extensive knowledge and understanding of the TVET landscape, sound knowledge of legislation governing post school education and curriculum delivery within the TVET Sector. Must be computer literate. Strong interpersonal communication (both verbal and written). Negotiation and problem solving skills. Well-developed organizational, planning and management skills, with diversity and conflict management skills. Proficient in computer skills. A valid code 08 driver’s License.

RESPONSIBILITIES: Deputise the Campus Manager. Submit annual estimates of campus student support material needs (including consumables). Oversee registers of all textbook/tool allocations and check returned textbook/tools. Facilitate arrangements for the maintenance of equipment and/or workshops. Monitor the provision of resources appropriate to campus needs. Oversee the maintenance and development of workshops, simulation, practical rooms and equipment. Plan, prepare and deliver lessons. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations. Monitor and analyse lecturer and student attendance. Monitor performance and implementation of curriculum. Facilitate and monitor all policies that have an impact on teaching and learning. Provide academic support to Senior Lecturers

Maintain schemes of work, year plans and academic year plans and provide input on timetabling and lecturer resources. Assign responsibilities to Senior Lecturers in consultation with relevant stakeholders.

Provide monthly reports on all campus activities to the Campus Manager. Oversee assessment processes in line with College and DHET policy and procedures. Conduct moderation of ICASS files in line with ICASS guidelines. Develop and implement academic strategies that will improve academic performance

Prepare and manage plans which also include Work Integrated Learning (WIL) for both student and lecturers. Manage and supervise assessment processes on campus including timeous marking of scripts, submission of marks, development of question papers, preparation of all ISAT and ICASS activities.

Requirements: A Diploma related to Public Management / Business Administration/ Office Management. A minimum 3 years of administrative experience. Driver’s license. Ability to think strategically and analytically, problem solving, telephone etiquette and interpersonal skills. Knowledge of (Ms Word, Ms Excel, Access, and Power Point) is essential. Key Responsibilities: Provide reception services to the Office of the Principal. Process travel and subsistence claims. SALARY:  R 211 713.00 (SL6) per annum plus 37% in lieu of benefits

NATURE OF APPOINTMENT: 03 YEARS CONTRACT

 REQUIREMENTS: A Diploma in Public Management/Community Development/relevant qualification. Two (02) years of project implementation experience. A driver’s license. Understanding of the TVET College’s core mandates. Good and solid communication skills. Excellent computer literacy including MS Word, MS Excel and MS PowerPoint. Report writing and presentation skills. Ability work within multi-disciplinary settings. Detail orientated, flexible and creative.

Responsibilities: Coordinate /manage all SETA and other related projects including Community Outreach Programmes at Learnership site or Campus. Conduct monitoring on projects. Ensure that quality facilitation, assessments and moderation take place. Compile project reports. Ensure that all administration on projects is complete. Ensure that various departments are prepared for audits from DHET, SETA’s and QCTO. Monitor portfolios and ensure that all POE’s are up-to-date. Advise students with regards to course and subject selection. Manage the SETA management system. Ensure that learner evaluations are recorded. Ensure training venues are set-up and conducive for teaching and learning. Ensure that facilitators have relevant teaching and learning resources.
